Description
A TSH test is a blood test that measures Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH), which is produced by the pituitary gland to regulate the thyroid gland’s production of thyroid hormones. It is used to diagnose and monitor thyroid conditions like hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid). A high TSH level suggests an underactive thyroid, while a low TSH level can indicate an overactive thyroid.
